Island Pride All-Stars LLC was founded on January 28, 2008 by company owner Scott Sampaio, a former head coach for Waipahu and James Campbell High Schools. After coaching public high school cheerleading for nine years, he decided to take his talent to the next level and start his own cheerleading company.

The first official tryout was held on Monday February 18, 2008 with just 20 members and 8 staff. On April 27, 2008, we held our first season tryouts for 2008-2009. Currently our company has 9 staff members, and 44 athletes make up our four all-star teams.

The colors Royal Blue, Silver, and Black were chosen as the colors to represent the teams because it is our owner's favorite colors. The mascots for teams Kamali'i, Na 'Opio, and Na Alaka'i are sea animals found in Hawaiian waters, and the mascot Na Koa was chosen for team Na Makua because to be at this level requires the strength and courage like that of our ancient Hawaiian warriors.

This slogan was chosen because we believe that when you build your teams from scratch and finally reach the top, only then can you call yourself a true champion.

We value our motto and strive to live by it. Pride is what we want to instill in all of our athletes, to be proud of who they are, what they do, and where they come from. Passion is what we have for the sport of cheerleading and we want each and every athlete that comes through our program to share the same passion. Professional is what we will always strive to be, for what we do and where we go all of our actions reflect on the company, and our home, the island state of Hawai'i.
